The Kavanagh Customs RT
Along with the Gem, we've also also recently been developing something a little different here at Kavanagh Customs. We wanted to build something with a solid body but along a similar vein to the Gem, following the same basic principles of beauty, functionality, tone and most importantly of all: playability.
We've just finished the first few of these and they are now available to buy from our online guitar shop (click here to go there now). Below is a list of the RT's main specifications:
- Solid one-piece bound mahogany body finished in nitrocellulose
- 'Tummy' contour
- Japanese Wilkinson bridge and machineheads
- Two special wide-range P90s - handwound here and totally unique to this model - similar to the H-90.
- Blood maple neck (12" radius) with abalone inlays, nitrocellulose finish
- 25.5" scale length with C back contour and 1 11/16" width at nut
- Three-way switching and CTS electronics
- Each guitar totally hand built from start to finish by one of our skilled luthiers
The RT is designed to be a high-output stadium rocker. Sleek and well-designed but robust and reliable: ideally suited to a heavily-used and abused life on tour. With tone woods and pickups that will shout out, your RT won't lose any of it's musical/tonal qualities no matter how far past 11 you turn the volume and how far you push the gain. Equally, the quality of the tonal woods and electronics will be evident in the recording studio and at quieter, more intimate gigs.
Where sound quality is everything, the RT IS the answer.
The RT is available in two colour options: two-step candy apple red and deep black, both are painstakingly applied nitrocellulose finishes. To see photographs, click here to visit our gallery or click on any of the photographs below.
The RT is available now directly from Kavanagh Customs and through a few select retailers in the North . If you want to order your's, please contact us now. Retail enquiries about this, and our other guitars, are also more than welcome.
